Man Seriously Injured After Jeep Crosses Lanes, Triggers Amityville Crash: Police
A late-night crash sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic in Suffolk County, police announced on Monday, Dec. 29.
The collision happened on Schleigel Boulevard near Columbus Boulevard in North Amityville just after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, according to Suffolk County Police.
Andre-Marcel Devieux, 28, of North Amityville, was driving a 2020 Jeep Cherokee southbound when the vehicle veered into the northbound lanes and struck a 2016 Volkswagen, detectives said.

A 26-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle slid off an icy New Jersey roadway and overturned into a pond on Saturday morning, Dec. 27, police said.
At 9:10 a.m., officers responded to West Malaga Road and Bracken Drive after a passing motorist reported the crash, Monroe Township police said.

A late-night house fire in Huntington Station turned deadly, killing an elderly man and leaving his adult son seriously injured, Suffolk County police announced on Monday, Dec. 15.
Second Precinct officers were called to a home on Depot Road after a 911 caller reported a fire just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, according to police.
Five fire departments responded and worked to extinguish the blaze at the residence at 174 Depot Road, authorities said.
