A group of dirt bikes and ATVs performed stunts on Route 28 in Middlesex Borough on Saturday, May 2, authorities said.
At 6 p..m, the dirt bikes and ATVs were seen riding erratically and refusing to comply with officers' lawful orders to stop, Middlesex Borough police said. Later that evening, a separate group of bicyclists engaged in similar behavior along Route 28, within the Middlesex Shopping Center, and on the grounds of Von E. Mauger Middle School, police said.

A suspect has now been charged following an incident in Rockland County in which a police officer was struck by a fleeing vehicle, authorities said.
Peter Theus, 34, of Spring Valley, was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, the Town of Haverstraw Police Department said in an update.
