Newark Police Helicopter Tracks 4 Teens Riding In Stolen Lexus, Man With Loaded Handgun
Four teenagers ages 15 and 16 driving in a stolen Lexus were taken into custody with help from the Newark police helicopter, authorities said. It began around 8:30 p.m. Monday, when officers in NPD1 -- the Newark police helicopter -- spotted a Lexus driving carelessly on Bergen Street near Avon Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. The Lexus was stolen from Sayre Street, and was stopped by police on the ground, with direction from NPD1 officers, authorities said. State Police: 5 Injured After 3 Cars Collide With Tractor-Trailer On Route 80 In Morris County
Five people were injured after three cars collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 80 eastbound in Morris County Wednesday afternoon, state police said. The crash — involving a tractor-trailer, a Lexus sedan, a Toyota Prius and a Buick SUV — was reported on the 34 Exit ramp in Wharton just after 2:20 p.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Five occupants were taken to Morristown Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Goez said. The exit ramp was closed during the accident cleanup and reopened by 4 p.m., Goez said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

State Police: Tractor-Trailer Crash Shuts Down Route 78 in Hunterdon County
A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a Lexus shut down Route 78 eastbound in Hunterdon County Thursday afternoon, State Police said. The crash was reported near milepost 13.1 in Union Township just before 12:40 p.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Traffic was temporally diverted off Exit 11 following the crash, Goez said. No injuries were reported in the crash, and all lanes were reopened around 1:30 p.m., Goez said.

Allentown Driver, 50, Seriously Hurt In Mercer County I-195 Crash
A man from Monmouth County was seriously hurt in a one-car crash on Interstate-195 in Robbinsville, authorities said. Noel Rosado of Allentown, who turned 50 on Friday, was taken to Helene Fuld Medical Center, New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. Rosado was driving a Lexus RC 350 about 9:50 p.m. on Thursday when he ran off of I-195 and into the righthand guardrail, Goez said. The Lexus crossed back over all the lanes near mile-marker 6.9 and ran into a concrete barrier, Goez said. The cause of the crash has not been determined, he said.

Paramedics revived one man and a second woman was airlifted to the hospital after being rear-ended on Route 17. A Lexus driven by Ulster County resident Lee Cone Jr., of Ellenville, was stopped in the left lane of Route 17 in Sullivan County west of exit 107 in Thompson when the driver of a Honda Civic drove into the rear of the vehicle, New York State Police said. A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Monmouth County died after his motorcycle struck a car at Route 18 and Ferry Road in Old Bridge late Wednesday, authorities said. Police: Jaywalking Maywood Pedestrian, 18, Struck By Sedan
A Maywood woman wasn't in the crosswalk when she was struck by a sedan Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The woman was crossing West Passaic Street, about 25 feet west of Golf Avenue, when she was hit by a 2007 Lexus ES350 driven by a 30-year-old Hackensack man shortly before 1:15 p.m., borough Police Capt. Terence Kenny said. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries but was expected to survive. No summonses were immediately issued after the crash, which remains under investigation, Kenny said.
