Household Hazardous Waste Day Set For April 11 In Westport
Westport residents with old paint, chemicals, gasoline, and other household hazardous materials will have a chance to dispose of them safely during the town’s Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
The collection event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at the Greens Farms Railroad Station in Parking Lot #1 on New Creek Road in Westport, the Town of Westport announced on Facebook.
The town said the free regional drop-off is open to residents of Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Stamford, and Greenwich.

Employee Confronts Man Kicking In Church Door During Preschool Class In Suffolk County: Police
A man tried to break into a church while young children were inside for class, police announced on Tuesday, March 17.
Daniel Fanuele, 30, of Riverhead, was arrested after attempting to kick down the door of the Presbyterian Church of the Moriches in Center Moriches at 12:50 p.m., according to Suffolk County Police.
The church, located on Main Street, houses Gentle Hearts Preschool, where classes were underway at the time. An employee confronted Fanuele as he tried to force entry, prompting him to flee on foot, police said.
