JC Teacher From Lyndhurst Gets 5 Years For Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl
A former Jersey City charter school teacher who admitted having sex with an eighth-grade girl at what was then her Lyndhurst home must serve at least four years and three months in state prison before she’ll be eligible for parole. Lauren Coyle-Mitchell, 36, was sentenced last Friday to a plea-bargained five years in state prison, 85% of which she must serve before being eligible for parole with lifetime supervision. Coyle-Mitchell also must register as a Megan’s Law offender, can never hold a teaching or government job again and is permanently prohibited from any contact with the victim. …

Northern Westchester Man, 37, Sentenced For Sexually Abusing 12-Year-Old Girl
A 37-year-old Westchester man will spend the next four years behind bars after being busted for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Luis Antonio Araujo-Cada of Ossining has been sentenced to four years in state prison after pleading guilty on a charge of course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, in Westchester County Court. Following his prison sentence, Araujo-Cada will be subjected to 10 years of post-release supervision and will register as a sex offender. An inmate at the Westchester County Jail has been sentenced to a state prison term after being convicted of assaulting a corrections officer earlier this year. Bookkeeper Sentenced For Stealing $300K From Westchester Businesses
A 71-year-old former bookkeeper from heading to prison after stealing more than $375,000 from her Westchester employee of 20 years. Patricia Hunt of New Rochelle has been sentenced to a term of between two and six years in state prison after pleading guilty to grand larceny, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced. A Mahwah ex-con with a 25-year criminal history was arrested in Secaucus by police who said they found him with a woman’s purse stolen during a pair of car burglaries.
