Driver In Two-Car Crash With Serious Injury Charged With DWI, Vehicular Assault
The 51-year-old driver in a two-car crash that left one person trapped and seriously injured has been charged with driving under the influence. Christopher Smith of Campbell Hall was arrested on Saturday following the crash at the intersection of Little Britain Road and Forrester Road, said New Windsor Police Lt. Michael Farbent. Responding officers found a two-car crash with heavy damage to both vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped and in and out of consciousness. Suffern Man Sentenced For DWI Crash That Nearly Killed Victim
A Suffern man convicted last year of vehicular assault and DWI after leaving the scene of a crash that left a man seriously injured has been sentenced to five years in prison, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe. Jonathan Elwell, 36, was found guilty by a jury in September 2017 of felony assault, two counts of felony vehicular assault, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. Driver In Wrong Way Westchester Crash Charged With Assault
The 35-year-old man who injured a family of six after slamming his SUV into their car driving the wrong way on the Bronx River Parkway last week has been arraigned as he continues to recover from his own injuries sustained in the crash. Manhattan resident Diego Caceres was charged with assault at his bedside arraignment at Westchester Medical Center on Tuesday morning.
